Two years ago, the ”Heidelberg Shoulder Convention
2006” was the first meeting solely dedicated to shoulder
arthroplasty in Germany. Ever since then, more and
more orthopaedic surgeons have growing experience
with the implantation of shoulder prosthesis. Reverse
arthroplasty is booming, resurfacing numerically has
gained in importance and completely new stemless
designs were brought on to the market. Especially for
the ”not too experienced” shoulder surgeon the determination
and decision making among these complex
philosophies of joint replacement can be awkward.
Our 2nd ”Heidelberg Shoulder Convention – Strategies in Shoulder Arthroplasty” wants to support indications which are adapted to the pathological requirements. In four live surgeries, the most established types of prosthesis will be implanted by experts.
In cadaver workshops and dry-labs, the participants will have the opportunity to practice operations supervised by experienced surgeons. Over 2 days, many lectures will be held, covering the whole field: From indications, implants, surgical procedures to the current controversies in shoulder arthroplasty.
Aside from the official schedule, there will be the opportunity to talk and meet the experts and other colleagues.
Heidelberg, the romantic city on the River Neckar and site of Germany’s oldest university is the perfect location for this meeting.
We are looking forward to your active attendance!
