Dear colleagues, dear participantsWe are delighted to be able to welcome you to our first Munich Arthroplasty Convention.
This convention is the continuation of our events in Heidelberg over the previous years which also revolved around shoulder endoprosthetics.
The evolution of joint replacement in the shoulder is a dynamic process which has recently seen lots of progress. Main focus over recent years have certainly been the anatomic, stemless implants, which not only can be introduced through tissue-conserving approaches but also avoid damage to the humeral shaft. Discussing all the new clinical findings around this important new technique will form part of our convention, as well as the progress seen in the field of arthroplasty after fractures to the humeral head where new design has revolutionized the surgical approach. Biologic and arthroscopic resurfacing is an additional topic.
Importance will also be given to the minimization of scapula notching and the prevention of loosening of the glenosphere, talking about recent changes in reversed arthroplasty. Beginners to the world of shoulder arthroplasty will find our hands-on as well as cadaver workshops a rewarding experience – a source of well defined and concrete knowledge transfer, which will leave them well equipped for future surgeries. Several lunchtime workshops will inform you about new techniques of shoulder replacement.
Additionally a workshop on physiotherapy and rehabilitation after shoulder arthroplasty will be organised.
Above all, we hope that you will truly enjoy your stay in Munich, the beautiful capital of Bavaria, and we are looking forward to many animated and enlightening dialogues with all of you!
Welcome to Bavaria
